I had been advised some months ago that David had been admitted to hospital and later found out via my husbands uncle, Peter Rolfe, that he had sadly passed away. David was a good friend of my late father (Jack Humphreys) and I'm sure that many people will agree that the loss of David will leave a big hole in the lives of all who knew him. It brings me back to when I first met him at Old Warden (dare I say 30 years ago!) when I was a mere 12 years old and taking my first steps with my wonderful father into the world of SAM and Aeromodelling. I have very fond memories of those days and seeing David run barefoot across the fields after another plane heading for the cornfields! Sadly people get older and lose touch and I myself am guilty of not keeping in touch as often as I could have. All I can say is that where ever he is I hope that he is in a happier place with Hilda chasing across a field somewhere in the sunshine after that runaway Plane !

On a final note, I believe that David may have had some of my fathers# planes, if so hopefully they will go to a good home.
